Cedar Park, TX – June, 2015 – Cedar Park dentist, Dr. Alkesh Sura, recently graduated from Leadership Cedar Park. The 9-month program helps to engage both established residents and business leaders, as well as newcomers to the Cedar Park Area. Program graduates often speak about their experiences, calling them impactful and eye-opening. The program is a great way to pull the community together.
Dr. Alkesh Sura enjoyed many aspects of the program. Moments that stood out were walking on the ice at HEB Center at Cedar Park, learning about non-profits in the community, touring the new Tom Glenn High School, visiting the capitol and lunching with Tony Dale, and viewing the original Texas land maps.
At the YMCA, the Leadership Cedar Park class participated in a ropes course challenge and became a part of a ‘human foosball’ game – These were great team-building activities.
Of course it was not all fun and games. Serious topics were also broached with a tour of the county jail and through discussions with the sheriff. The class also observed fire and police demonstrations. In addition, the city’s future was laid out by the mayor along with his vision to grow and improve Cedar Park.
